Fabric Market

Some girlfriends took me to the fabric market in Luohu. Luohu borders HK and has a huge indoor mall where you can find all the knock off and bulk shopping items.  It's a land of hard bargaining, big crowds and good deals.  The 5th floor is the fabric and tailor floor. Going with friends was the right move because it was easy to get lost and they were able to tell who gave a good deal and who was the best at tailoring etc.  I ended up ordering up a few items - two complete King size sheet sets with duvet covers from a beautiful fabric of my choice for a steal of a deal and I am having a dress made.  The dress construction cost just $20.  The tailors will copy items you bring in or from a picture.  They take your measurements - will even walk with you through the rows and rows of fabric vendors to help you choose and will deliver it to your door in a week.  I'm excited to see how it turns out.  If all goes well...aah the possibilities with Pinterest and Polyvore : ). I priced out a picture of a dress I love that I had pinned from Nordstrom.  Nordstrom price was $395.  Here can get custom made for about $100...

Lovely silk fabric I'm getting a bed sheet set from

Notions and rows of things

Friends bargaining - scarfs from $5 to $2 - what a deal! Probably $15 each in USA

Love this - I need to make a dress or skirt from this...
