10K You Pay

In the beginning of October I got invited to participate in a midnight 10k race in the beginning of November.  I had just been running a little, but decided to go ahead and do it.  A week before the race I came down with a big head cold.  I had put in some work running and was determined not to be mentally weak and to run at all costs.   The day of the race came and I did a nebulizer breathing treatment before hand to up my chances for making it through the race. Ashley agreed to run with me and I was grateful because she talked the whole time which was a wonderful distraction.  Ran avg 11 min pace without walking - not bad for being sick. Full China experience- wandered in mucky bushes for a pre race potty stop, there was some hacking and spitting along the way - good times. I was proud of myself for completing the race, but I paid for it and had pneumonia for weeks after.
